Joseph and Kayla’s wedding was one of those days that felt personal from the start. I was originally asked to film it over a year earlier after working with their family on a previous project, which made being there mean a little more.
The entire day was grounded in close relationships. My wife, Jessica, was the day-of coordinator, and the photographer, Pedro, is someone we’ve known for years through friends, family, and past weddings. It created a relaxed and familiar energy that carried through the night.
The setting in Morgan Hill was beautiful, the weather couldn’t have been better, and the celebration built naturally as the night went on. A packed dance floor, a DJ that kept the energy high, and a late-night surprise of pizza made it feel like a true celebration with the people closest to them.
It was a genuinely fun, connected, and memorable day from start to finish.

I started Altar Cinema around a simple idea-wedding films should feel real, cinematic, and worth coming back to for many years to come.
My goal is to create films that are honest, emotional, and visually strong without ever feeling forced.
Married and living in Lodi, California, I’ve always been drawn to storytelling. I approach filming weddings in a story-first way, capturing the natural flow of the day using pacing, audio, and atmosphere to create films that feel more like a piece you’d watch over and over again.
When I’m filming, I like to let things unfold naturally, working calmly and unobtrusively so the focus stays on the couple. I want you to be completely present, enjoying every moment without feeling like you’re on a movie set.
